Posted on 08/20/2023

¡Hola Familias de CCE, we are super excited to see you all soon!

Friday, August 18 at 4:00 p.m. all DJUSD students and families received access to login to their DJUSD Parent Portal and find their child's assigned classroom teacher “advisor” and any course assignments for the 2023-24 school year.

Please read the following below:

  • CCE Campus is closed tomorrow, Mon., Aug. 21, 8:00-2:00 p.m. to the CCE community and public while district, staff, and maintenance and operations personnel prepare our campus for school opening on Tuesday, August 22.
  • Only the CCE Office will be open tomorrow to the public between 8:00-11:30 a.m. and 12:30-3:30 p.m. Please consider calling the office at (530) 757-5490 if you have any questions.
  • At 3:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m., CCE campus is open and invites all families and students to our SIPAT sponsored Bienvenidos Los Lobos event. This event is an opportunity to tour the campus, locate your teacher’s classroom, visit our information booths in the new MPR, and purchase/order CCE spirit wear. We respectfully ask that our visiting students and families do not enter or bring food-drink into the front half of the MPR and stage area as it will be set up for the 5:00p.m. 1st grade Back to School Night. THANK YOU!
  • Moreover, while many of us have been traveling and arriving back in town, I strongly encourage students and staff to test three days prior to attending the first day of school or any of the Back to School Nights. Test kits are available at the CCE Office for pick up on Monday, August

I will continue to send my Sunday weekly emails titled “Principal Dunn Update” with our school Highlights, Updates, and Reminders for the week (read below). It is important to read these messages so you are up to date with CCE and DJUSD information, including our 2023-24 CCE Student-Family Handbook which you can access here CCE Student-Family Handbook 2023-24.docx and can also be found on our CCE website. This is an important resource and I recommend you read this Handbook with your student(s) to be prepared for Tuesday and this school year.

Excited to see you all tomorrow, 3:00 p.m. at our Bienvenidos Los Lobos event!

Sinceramente,

Sra. Dunn

Highlights

600 DJUSD Educators attend UDL Training!

For the first time ever, DJUSD offered district-wide training in Universal Design for Learning (UDL) which is our instructional focus to support our new Strategic Plan’s four goals this 2023-24 academic school year. Families will learn more about the UDL educational framework based on neuroscience and research that guides the development of flexible methods, materials, and environments that embrace educational variability, the minimization of barriers to learning, and developing all students to be expert learners.
