Principal Dunn Update - February 18, 2024
Posted on 02/18/2024

Dear CCE Community,

César Chávez week will take place on Monday, April 1- Friday, April 5.

“Uno-dos-tres” Andres 2024 Grammy Winner will be visiting CCE on Monday, April 1 for a SIPAT sponsored concert that kicks off our César Chávez week. Our school is excited to host Mariachi Valle and former CCE alumni, guest speaker Antonio De Loera-Brust during this special week, too.

SIPAT is our parent teacher association who organize and finance many of the programs our students and families enjoy throughout the year. We are fortunate to have a tight-knit community of families – a community that values language and culture, and deeply appreciates the teachers, principal, staff, and academic programs at César Chávez Elementary School. This shared commitment shows... our immersion program is nearly 30 years old and growing stronger than ever!

We hope you can make it to our 2024 SIPAT Gala Ball.

Sra. Dunn

Attendance Matters in February

The month of February at CCE presents with higher volumes of student absences due to illness, as well as Short-Term Independent Study (STIS). Therefore, we ask families to help out by contacting our front office staff and teachers each day your child will not be present at school due to illness or other reasons. In addition, our office staff and teachers respectfully ask that you provide us at least two weeks or more in advance when initiating the STIS Request form to provide the teachers ample time to create and organize materials for your child during their STIS. You may pick up a STIS form in the front office and you may access more DJUSD Attendance Initiative information on our district website.
