Celebrating Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week

Thank you CCE students and parents for all the lovely appreciation messages, gifts, and joy you brought us all this week. Every member enjoyed the treats that were coordinated in the staff room, and the students shared their gratitude in creative and fun ways. We all feel blessed to be a part of such a caring school community. ¡Muchas gracias!

Updates

Power Up! Summer School open to Invited CCE Students

Invitations for Power Up! Summer School went out two weeks ago. If your child receives an invitation, this is an excellent language and literacy support opportunity. Rising 1st-4th graders will receive Spanish language arts, and rising 5th and 6th grades will receive English language arts. To learn more about the program, visit the DJUSD Power Up! website.

DJUSD 2024-25 Academic Calendar

I encourage our families to review the upcoming school year DJUSD calendar to plan and make future arrangements for leave or travel to avoid chronic absenteeism. Notice: First Day of School, MONDAY, August 26, 2024.

Also know that if you have other students who attend a Senior High and/or Middle School in our district, the calendar “Teacher Workday” dates are slightly different and do not always align with Elementary Schools. We encourage families to consider Short-Term Independent Study Plans for next year starting September 3, 2024, if you know your child will be missing 3-days and/or up to 10 consecutive days for leave or travel reasons.
