Greetings CCE Families,

We are excited to meet with you this week for the Parent-Teacher Conferences. While our Kindergarten program’s schedules remain the same this week, 1st through 6th grade classes are dismissed at 12:10 p.m. Since our school is accountable for your student(s) after dismissal, we ask that you complete this survey here to help our staff ensure your 1st-6th grade student is where they need to be between 12:10 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. ¡Gracias!

Native American Heritage Month

Throughout November, teachers dedicate class time to teaching about Native American peoples through primary Native sources, contemporary voices, and perspectives of actual Native Americans, consistent with our California Department of Education History and Social Science Framework. Many relevant and appropriate resources are available on the District website’s Multicultural Resources page.

Thank you for your support,

Sra. Dunn

book fair

CCE Scholastic Book Fair

The Scholastic Book Fair is on campus the week of November 13, all proceeds benefit the CCE Library! The book fair will be open for student shopping during an assigned time for each class. Teachers will let parents/guardians know what day their students will be shopping at the fair. Each grade level will be able to send students who missed the chance to purchase at their assigned time back to the fair on Friday, November 17th. After school shopping with be available M-Th, 111/13-11/16 from 12:10-3:00 p.m. students must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

The easiest way for students to shop is by using a Scholastic e-wallet. This is a safe and cashless way for students to purchase items. We HIGHLY encourage parents/guardians to se up an e-wallet. If you prefer for your student to pay using cash, please send the money to school in bag or other secure way labeled with their name and teacher’s name. Questions? Please contact Petrina Jonas

djusd parcel tax

Measure N: Renew Local Funding for Schools–on March 2024 Ballot

On November 2, the DJUSD Board of Trustees voted to place a parcel tax renewal measure on the March 5, 2024, ballot. If approved by voters, Measure N would not be a new tax, but would instead renew the existing parcel tax at the current rate of $768 per year, raising approximately $11.7 million per year until ended by voters. If renewed, this source of funding would continue to provide close to $12 million annually to protect art, music, world language, career technical education, AP courses and other electives; continue outstanding academics in science, technology, engineering, math, science, reading, and writing; and sustain athletics and co-curricular programs and more. For more information, please visit our Parcel Tax website.

attendance matter

Student Attendance

If your student misses a day of school, it is the responsibility of the parent to contact the CCE Office Attendance Assistant at (530) 757-5490 or email [email protected]. If you forget to call or email in the absence, a DJUSD robo call will automatically be delivered via telephone call to the primary contact(s) phone number (s). If we do not receive a message regarding a missed school day by the primary contact(s), the absence will be coded as “unverified” and can result in a truancy absence if parent/guardian does not notify the CCE Office Team. Thank you for your CARES!

Lost and Found

Parents, please check the lost and found over the next couple of weeks, especially during Parent-Teacher Conference Week. CCE will be donating clothing items and discarding water bottles and lunchboxes during the Fall/Winter breaks.
