¡Hola Familias de CCE, we are super excited to see you all soon!
TOMORROW, Monday, August 22 at 7:00 a.m. all DJUSD students and families will have access to login to their Canvas and DJUSD Parent Portals and find their assigned classroom teacher “advisor” and any course assignments for the 2022-23 school year.
Please read the following below:
- CCE Campus is closed tomorrow, Mon., Aug. 22, 8:00-3:30 p.m. to the CCE community and public while district, staff, and construction personnel prepare our campus for school opening on Tuesday.
- Only the CCE Office will be open tomorrow to the public between 8:00-11:30 a.m. and 12:30-3:30 p.m. Please consider calling the office at (530) 757-5490 if you have any questions.
- At 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m., CCE campus is open and inviting all families and students to our SIPAT sponsored Bienvenidos Los Lobos event. This event is an opportunity to tour the campus, locate your teacher’s classroom, visit our information booths in the new MPR, and purchase/order CCE spirit wear. We respectfully ask that visitors not enter the newly installed play structure until further notice – THANK YOU!
- Moreover, while many of us have been traveling and arriving back in town, I strongly encourage students and staff to test three days prior to attending the first day of school or any of the Back to School Nights.
- Test kits will be available for all CCE enrolled students at our Bienvenidos Los Lobos event on Monday, August 22, 4:30-6:30p.m. We appreciate all your collective efforts to ensure a healthy return to school for our students and staff!
I will continue to send my Sunday weekly emails titled “Principal Dunn Update” with our school Highlights, Updates, and Reminders for the week (read below). It is important to read these messages so you are up to date with CCE and DJUSD information, including our 2022-23 CCE Student-Family Handbook which you can access here and can also be found on our CCE website. This is an important resource and I recommend you read this Handbook with your student(s) to be prepared for Tuesday and this school year.
Excited to see you all tomorrow, 4:30 p.m. at our Bienvenidos Los Lobos event!
Sinceramente,
Sra. Dunn

¡Gracias, Davis Picks It Up! Amazing Volunteers Help Clean Up CCE Campus
Thanks so much to the 11 Davis volunteers who came out yesterday to pick up at César Chávez Elementary School and Redwood Park. The DPIU volunteers worked alongside Sra. Bea, CCE staff and the construction crews to prepare our gardens, landscaping and green spaces looking great for our first day of school this Tuesday. We will be teaming up with DPIU for future litter education getting them involved in in the pickup movement on the school campuses and in the communities. Please check out the DPIU website or facebook page to get involved!
Updates
CCE is hiring!
We still have open bilingual classified positions! If you, or someone you know is interested in working part or full time with our amazing students and staff, check out our current job postings to join the CCE-DJUSD family.
COVID-19 Prevention & Response
We will continue to utilize COVID-19 prevention strategies, including asking students to stay home when sick, checking for signs and symptoms of illness, handwashing, and encouraging our community to get vaccinated and boosted, if eligible. HVAC systems across the District have high quality MERV 13 air filters, and portable air filters are located in all indoor spaces at each school. All filters will be changed prior to the start of the school year.
- At this time, indoor masking in schools remains strongly recommended by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH). When masking, CDPH recommends using well-fitted face covering, such as a N95 (best) or KF94 or KN95 (better). At CCE, we will continue to offer masks to students, families and staff during school operations. Additionally, we strongly recommend students and staff to wear masks during school assemblies in our NEW MPR this school year.
- Home antigen tests will be available at our Bienvenidos Los Lobos event, Monday, August 22, 4:30-6:30 p.m., NEW MPR, prior to the first day of school.
- While Yolo County remains in the “High” rate of transmission, classroom doors and windows will remain open (weather permitting) to ensure optimum ventilation. Doors are equipped with lock blocks that will allow for the door, when open, to be closed and secured quickly. During periods of lower COVID-19 transmission, doors will remain closed and locked with the lock blocks engaged.
- All DJUSD parents, guardians and staff will receive a daily notification email detailing the number of positive cases reported, if any, at each school site or District department. Students who test positive for COVID-19 must isolate at home for at least five days. A COVID-19 positive case should be reported using the COVID-19 Reporting Form, or by reaching out to [email protected].
- For general COVID-19 health and safety information and resources, please visit the DJUSD COVID-19 Information webpage. Questions related to COVID-19 should be directed to [email protected].
Recognition goes a long way…
Speaking of our amazing students and staff, we have much to celebrate in DJUSD this upcoming year. To that end, if you or your student(s) want to recognize a DJUSD staff member or student for their outstanding achievements or contributions to our District, please use this form to nominate them for recognition.
School Campus Safety
We have established processes and practices to help keep our school communities safe. DJUSD staff will wear their identification badges at all times. All parents, guardians and visitors are required to check-in at the school’s front office to obtain a visitor badge prior to entering any other area of a campus. We also ask that your student(s) are dropped off at your school’s designated locations, and please do not congregate on campus without checking in at the front office. We want to know who is on our campuses.
