Principal Dunn Update, February 21, 2021
Posted on 02/21/2021

CCE Families,

Trimester 2, Spring Teacher Conferences are scheduled to take place the week of March 15-19, 2021 for Kindergarten-6th grade families. Conferences will be in a virtual format, and your student’s teacher will send a Zoom invitation for your meeting. Classroom Teachers may be adjusting their live synchronous and asynchronous instruction during the week of conferences to accommodate parent schedules for conferencing. If needed, conference appointments may be scheduled during morning hours or before or after the Elementary Conference Week.

Spring Teacher Conferences are intended for parents/guardians of students who have academic, social-emotional, or other educational needs. If your child's teacher feels a conference would be beneficial, they will contact you to set up an appointment.

Have a wonderful, 3-day weekend!

Sra. Dunn

Highlights

Healthy Davis Together COVID Saliva Testing

DJUSD is working with Healthy Davis Together to provide saliva COVID tests for asymptomatic DJUSD staff and DJUSD students. If you would like your child tested at one of our school sites, there are two items to complete. Please go to the Healthy Davis Together website at https://healthydavistogether.org/testing/ and register your child. Then go to the DJUSD website and fill out the DJUSD Minor COVID Testing Waiver (English) (Spanish). Please have your child bring the waiver to one of the following test sites at the times specified below to have your child tested. Parents do not need to be present for testing once the waivers are on file.

  • Mondays 9-12pm at Cesar Chavez Elementary MPR (1221 Anderson) - starts March 1st
  • Mondays 1-4 at Birch Lane Elementary MPR (1600 Birch Lane) - starts March 1st
  • Tuesdays 9-12pm at Pioneer Elementary School A-5 (5215 Hamel St.) – currently open
  • Wednesdays 9-12pm at Korematsu Elementary School Music Room by MPR- starts February 17th
  • Wednesdays, 1-4pm at Emerson Junior High School Gym (2121 Calaveras Ave.) – currently open
  • Thursdays 9am-12pm at Patwin Elementary School MPR (2222 Shasta Dr.)- currently open
  • Thursdays 1-4 pm at Harper Jr. High - Blacktop side of Gym (4000 E. Covell Blvd)- currently open
  • Fridays 9am-12pm at Montgomery Elementary School MPR (1441 Danbury St.)- currently open
  • Fridays 1-4 pm at Valley Oak Campus Library (1400 E. 8th St.)- currently open

If you have any questions, please email Heidi Perry at hperry@djusd.net

What do I need to do prior to testing?

  1. Sign up via HDT (and e-sign the waiver for minors) If a minor is testing, they must have a DJUSD waiver on file. Directions on how to sign up: Covid Testing Account Registration - DJUSD Parents - 2.9.21 (2).pdf
  2. You should have not consumed anything 30 minutes prior to testing. This includes food, beverages, water, gum, smoking, vaping, etc.

Can our family come together to be tested at school sites? Currently, no. But we are working with Healthy Davis Together to make this happen. We would like this to happen.
