Principal Update - September 12, 2021
Posted on 09/12/2021

Queridos padres de familia de César Chávez Elementary,

As our 4-day school week presented us with high temperatures and rain, the students and staff successfully Cooperated and Adapted to new school systems and spaces that strengthened our students’ physical and emotional safety. Teachers are building classroom community by creating fun and engaging social-emotional lessons and activities that reinforce our 5-school core values each week. This upcoming week our schoolwide focus will be Responsibility.

We hope that you and your family are settling into the new schedules and routines nicely. While it was an exhausting start for many of us, it has been so wonderful being at school with our students again.
Our collective CARES is appreciated and needed to make in-person learning joyful and safe at CCE!
Sí se puede,

Sra. Dunn

Asymptomatic Saliva Testing a Success!

This past Friday, Healthy Davis Together, DJUSD and CCE staff tested over 400+ elementary students and staff in three hours! Moreover, Board of Education Trustee, Tom Adams, visited CCE and tested along with our school community, too. Please reach out to share your appreciation for the exceptional organization and teamwork of our DJUSD-HDT Liaison, Heidi Perry (hperry@djusd.net) and HDT Team Leader, Jose Arias Zavala (jariaszavala@djusd.net) for making this possible at our school campus! I have never seen a mission accomplished with such coordination and effort…¡muchas gracias, Heidi y Jose!
