Principal Update - Sept 4, 2022
Posted on 09/04/2022

Happy Labor Day Weekend,

A reminder that DJUSD schools are not in session tomorrow, Monday, September 6.  And, due to our current California heat advisory, CCE has plans in place when monitoring the rising temperatures and air quality through this week.  We are in good status with functioning HVAC units in classrooms, air purifying machine filters have been changed, and a modified afternoon schedule to eat and play indoors or outdoors in shade are being implemented.

In addition, CCE is also accepting and seeking parent applicants to serve on our School Site Council and submissions are due on Tuesday, September 7 at 3:30 p.m.  I am hoping one of you reading this Principal Dunn Update may be interested in serving a two-year term, so I’ve included a couple of documents attached with our 2021-22 SPSA (Approved 5-19-21).pdf , 2021-22 CSSP (Approved 11-17-21).pdf , and some information to help you consider joining.

  • Meeting Times: 3:30-5:00 p.m., in-person in our CCE Library
  • Meeting Dates:  Every 3rd Wednesday of the month; no meeting in December (9/21,10/19, 11/16, 1/18, 2/15, 3/16, 4/19, 5/17)
  • Total Hours = 13.5 hrs/yr and possibly +3-6 hours in subcommittee meetings on Zoom.
  • SUBMISSION FORMhttps://forms.gle/DUKFfd4RbecAk9wC9

Finally, thank you for arranging transportation specifically for Wednesdays which are early release days at 1:30 p.m. for all 1st-6th graders - supervision is not available after 1:45 p.m.  We also appreciate families labeling your students’ school items with their first initial and last name.  The CCE Lost and Found is located on the east side of the landscaped walls of the NEW MPR and is available for families to peruse after dismissal times.  Staff also try to help distribute labeled water bottles, lunch boxes and clothing items each week to our students.

Thank you for taking the time to read my updates.

Enjoy the rest of the holiday,

Sra. Dunn
