Principal Update - August 28, 2022
Posted on 08/28/2022

Queridos padres de familia de CCE,

It was a wonderful feeling to welcome students back to CCE with our NEW MPR and playground spaces this week. And we are so thankful that Back to School Nights were in-person on campus for our parents to be acquainted with their child’s classroom and teacher, too.

Many thanks to you for taking the time to read my Sunday Principal Updates and learn more about our Spanish Immersion Program, Staff, Policies and Procedures by accessing or participating in the resources below.

Looking forward to a wonderful school year!

Sra. Dunn

Principal Coffee – Last Friday of the Month!

About 30 parents and caregivers joined me for a meet and greet coffee on Friday. It is a great way for our families to learn more about CCE in real-time, ask questions and discuss current events and topics. I hope you can make our next Principal Coffee, Friday, September 30, 8:30-9:00 a.m.

FAQs

When Can Students Come Back to School When Being Sick?

  • We highly recommend COVID testing, but it is not required.
  • Any household member who is asymptomatic and COVID free may come by our office to pick up a free home antigen test.
  • If a COVID home antigen test is negative, students may return to school when they have been fever-free for 24 hours (without the use of fever reducing medications), and as a COVID test/result is not required, the student may return when they are symptom-free.
  • If a student tests positive for COVID-19, immediately fill out the COVID-19 Test Report Form and report the positive to [email protected]
  • K-6 Teachers are posting class and homework on their Canvas pages so students will still have access to work from home when sick.

When Can Families Request Short-Term Independent Study (STIS)?

  • STIS does not start until September 6, 2022.
  • Please make sure to communicate with your child’s school attendance secretary and teacher(s) at least 5 teaching days in advance before completing the STIS form (in our offices) so the teacher may have time to prepare the assignments.
  • STIS is approved for leaves between 3-10 days per occurrence and cannot exceed 10 consecutive days.
  • STIS is limited to a maximum of 14 school days in one year.
