Primcipal Update - October 24, 2021
Posted on 10/24/2021

Dear César Chávez, Elementary Families and Caregivers,

To support our Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS) CARES program, we will be teaching our students the CCE school code of conduct “La manera de Los Lobos/The Lobo Way” during the months of October and November.

The Lobo Way

César Chávez Elementary is a school community where everyone CARES for one another. We cooperate, we adapt, we are responsible, we practice empathy, and we make sure our school is emotionally and physically safe.

Our staff will also begin our schoolwide CARES Recognition Program this week. Students will be recognized with a “Super Lobo” recognition for demonstrating CARES each week.

We thank our parents for supporting our PBIS CARES to strengthen our Home-School Connection!

Con mucho gusto,

Sra. Dunn

    snack and lunch

Rainy Day Snack and Lunch

Students and Staff worked together to hold our morning snack and afternoon lunch times outdoors during rain and wet weather safely. It was a school effort and everyone demonstrated their CARES and made it work!  ¡Muchas gracias, Los Lobos!

    breast cancer awareness

Breast Cancer Awareness Month at CCE

Our staff showed support wearing pink this past Tuesday, October 19 to celebrate our beloved custodian, Mirna “Bea” Olivera’s 1-year anniversary of chemotherapy treatment for breast cancer. After a total of 18 months recovering from cancer, Bea returned to CCE last week and we are thrilled she is well and getting stronger each day!

Safe Routes to School

I need all your help to ensure the safety of our students, parents and staff at arrival to school each morning, especially during these rainy months!!  We have requested the Davis PD issue citations for violations of the vehicle code outside the school. Staff have witnessed traffic code violations including speeding, making U-turns in front of the school, right-of-way violations, parking in the crosswalk, parking in the 3-minute loading zone, dropping off along the construction entrance in front of the Kinder yard, and parking in the staff parking lot.

Any further issues regarding traffic violations, please contact Davis PD at 530-747-5400.
