Thank you for taking the time to read our new updates and reminders below!

Short-Term Independent Study (STIS)

The winter break is approaching and many of our families have inquired about our school’s Short-Term Independent Study (STIS) Plans, or Travel Plans, which are contracts with terms that support independent study for a minimum of 3 days to maximum of 10 school days. The STIS plans are in the front office and must be signed by the parent, (3rd-6th) student and principal at least three business days in advance prior to the first day of student(s) absence. Please notify both our Attendance Manager, Daniela Loyola ([email protected]) and your student’s teacher(s) regarding the school days that will be missed. Thank you for contacting Sra. Daniela and your teacher well in advance so that your student’s plan will be available for pick up at the office prior to the beginning of the STIS period. Our school office hours are: 8:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Vaccination Cards

Many thanks to our families who provided our office staff with your child’s vaccination card. We are accepting copies or screen shots of enrolled CCE student vaccination cards in the office or via email to Daniela Loyola ([email protected]). If you have children enrolled at any other DJUSD school, you may email copies of their cards to Janeett Rosales-Flores ([email protected]).

Super Lobos this Week!

Each week CCE students are acknowledged for demonstrating their CARES! Students receive a Certificate of Recognition, a picture with the Principal and are entered into a raffle for PBIS prizes! Congratulations to: Ariel Chavez, Leela Fitch-Polse, Phoenix McMains, Amia Wood, Marco Guerra McFarlane, Para Purewal, Adrian Germeshausen, Hulya Cuesta-Karaagac, Kevin Henley, and Henry Podsakoff.

Thank you SIPAT and families who help fund our PBIS-CARES program this school year! Your membership to SIPAT, personal donations to our CCE Webstore and participation in SIPAT fundraising events help fund our CCE CARES projects for our school campus, students and staff. Many more signs will be installed throughout the campus over time, ¡César CARES!

Updates

CCE Campus Repairs

Repairs to the exiting sewer lines at CCE require the removal of an ornamental pear. This tree is in poor condition and is at or near end of it’s expected life. The tree is located just north of where the front office walkway meets the parking lot. This tree will be removed during the winter break. The sewer line work will also be completed over winter break. The sewer line work will correct an existing “belly” in the line and will help ensure the chronic sewer back-ups at CCE are eliminated.

Important Reminders

CCE Read-A-Thon December 7-13th

SIPAT will continue its 2nd Annual Read-A-Thon to support our CCE Library and SIPAT Programs. Last year we raised $5,556 and half of the proceeds overed the Spanish Book Purchases. There will be class prizes in addition to raffle prizes from local vendors, such as Avid Reader, Upper Crust Bakery, Baskin-Robbins, In and Out, and much more. Winter Concert for César Chávez Orchestra: January 31st

Please mark your calendars to attend our CCE Orchestra Concert scheduled for Monday, January 31st at 6:30 p.m. at Brunelle Theater at Davis Senior High School. Students need to arrive by 5:45 p.m. for set up and tuning. Sra. Cooley is encouraging our parents to support their child/children with daily practice.
