
Estimados Padres de familia,
Thank you to our Spanish Immersion Parent and Teacher Association (SIPAT) for sponsoring such an amazing Día de Muertos “Spoken Word” Event virtually on Monday, November 2, 2020, 6:00-8:00 p.m. Over 60 CCE and community participants joined with a combined effort from parents, Georgia Wade, Melissa Moreno, Steve Nyholm and Peggy Enderle coordinated a collective and festive debut from poet, Ernesto Garay, CCE students and families who sang songs, played music, wrote and read aloud poems. In addition, virtual musical performances by Mariachi Puente with special visit from co-directors Hiram and Ximena Jackson were major contributors in support of our school wide event. Finally, the event concluded with a
CCE Dia de los muertos Virtual Ofrenda presentation where members of our community honored a love one in special memory.
School events such as this is continuing to build community and resilience, and I look forward to finding many more ways to connect with one another safely during these times.

1st Grade Virtual Concert Performance
Thank you 1st grade teachers and SIPAT for coordinating a wonderful Hispanic-Latinx concert with performing artist, Nathalia! Her original music with drum, guitar and voice, featured songs about the Amazon Rainforest, Frida Khalo, and much more. Please find the lyrics to her songs in this attachment.

Elementary Parent-Teacher Conferences
Teacher Conferences are scheduled to take place the week of November 16-20, 2020 for all TK-6th grade families. Conferences will be in a virtual format and your child’s teacher will send a letter with Zoom link meeting invitation soon. Please note that teachers may be adjusting their live synchronous and asynchronous instruction this week in order to accommodate parent schedules for conferencing. If needed, conference appointments may be scheduled during morning hours or before or after the Elementary Conference Week.
New Elementary Report Cards
New Elementary Report Cards modified this fall to focus on academic feedback on essential skills will be shared during conferences and mailed home the week of December 1. Teachers will also share comments on your students’ progress toward our Graduate Profile characteristics of Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking and Problem Solving, Civic and Cultural Awareness, Creativity and Innovation, and Adaptability and Resilience. CCE Apparel Orders Placed before October 22nd, are Ready for Pickup!
