Principal Dunn Update, November 1, 2020.
Posted on 11/01/2020

Queridos padres de familia de la primaria César Chávez,

I appreciate you taking the time each week to read my Principal weekly updates! I realize there is so much information parents receive at this time, though I hope you find these weekly updates with “Highlights”, “Updates” and “Reminders” useful. This Fall and Winter, the teachers and I only hope that you and your child/children are maintaining emotional and physical wellness and want you to know we are here in support. Teachers look forward to meeting with you Monday, November 16 through to Friday, November 20 for Parent-Teacher Conference Week (a separate letter will be sent to parents soon).

Sinceramente,

Sra. Dunn

Highlights

CCE Noche de Noche de Leer en Pijamas – Pajama Reading Night
It was a remarkable CCE K-6th grade student turnout for Spooky Literary Read Alouds by teachers, Sra. Jonas, Sra. Burgess, Sra. Post, Sra. Dunbarr and Sra. Ramirez. What a BOO-tiful Library event!

Updates

Distance Learning Substitute Teacher Update

DJUSD has established a new substitute teacher system that equips a small pool of returning subs to help support Distance Learning should a teacher be unavailable during the live synchronous time. While it is a very limited pool of substitutes available at any given time, the Principal or any support staff will do their best to cover the class for the classroom teacher if available. If in event your child’s teacher is absent or is experiencing internet outages, the Office Staff will do their best to reach the families of the classroom. I apologize in advance regarding this new system as it is unfamiliar and we are learning best ways to respond to immediate or unexpected occurrences as they arrive.

CCE Lifetouch Picture Day

A date has been tentatively been scheduled for mid-January 2021. As we get closer to the date, we will inform all CCE families and staff on the status and plans. We thank you for your patience!
