Cesar Chavez Elementary,

I hope this message finds you and your family well after a Spring Break rejuvenation!

As we are preparing for reopening of schools on April 12, DJUSD has organized four Professional Development Days scheduled for all District Staff to attend on the following dates:

  • Tuesday, March 30
  • Thursday, April 1
  • Thursday, April 8
  • Friday, April 9

Elementary teachers will be holding their regularly scheduled 30-minute morning meeting for their class, while the remaining portion of the day will be devoted to student Asynchronous activities during these four days.  Your cooperation and support of our staff attendance for the trainings is appreciated, as this will allow teachers time for preparation and planning for a safe and welcoming return to school for our students and families.

CCE Obsolete Curriculum and Consumable Distribution 

CCE will be offering Spanish obsolete textbooks, books, resources and consumables for our school community members.  This is an opportunity for our families to find resources for a grade-level below, at or above their child's current grade.  All materials will be displayed on the lunch tables on campus between 1:00 - 5:00 p.m.  Parents may park in the staff parking lot and may peruse the selection which will be first come-first serve.  If you have any questions, please call our school office at (530) 757-5490 or contact Daniela Loyola at
