Next Principal Dunn Update: March 31, 2021

Dear CCE Families,

Spring Parent-Teacher Conferences will begin tomorrow, and Trimester 2 Report Cards will be mailed this week. March 15-19th Distance Learning schedules will be adapted to accommodate parent schedules as well as CCE staff vaccination appointments.  In this update, I hope to provide caregivers with as much information about our Phase 3 Campus Re-Opening Activities as well as our Hybrid Schedule to support family decisions that will benefit students and families.  Upon returning from Spring Break, Parents will receive an updated CCE Family Handbook with our school’s expectations, logistics and DJUSD Health and Safety protocols and policies.

Return to Campus – Family Selection Survey is due TODAY. Note: There were some survey design issues last week and some of the issues have been resolved. DJUSD will contact all DJUSD families this week so parents can re-confirm or select one of the two Hybrid Options - In-person or Distance Learning – through the DJUSD Parent Portal. Please be on the lookout for an email from Davis Joint Unified School District, mailto:communications@djusd.net. To report issues or submit questions about this survey please email to this link.
• DJUSD ONLINE Intent to Return Forms are due Friday, March 19. According to our records, 120 CCE parents have not completed the Intent to Return form. Families have received an email from our school’s Registrar, Lynn Alvarez, with information. Or you can visit this link with Spanish and English directions on how to fill out this form online.

Spring Break – NO SCHOOL: Monday, March 22 – Friday, March 26

We are all working hard to anticipate the needs of our students who will be returning to campus or continuing with Distance Learning only. Our CCE staff is looking forward to seeing students in-person this school year, as well as maintaining the student-teacher-peer connections with students remotely this Spring. Next Fall, we anticipate a full return to César Chávez Elementary School campus!

Have a safe and joyful Spring Break,

Sra. Dunn
