César Chávez Elementary Community,

I hope you all had an enjoyable Valentine’s and Presidents’ Day weekend! We are approaching the end of Trimester 2 on February 26 and our teachers will begin assessing students, preparing for Report Cards and Spring Conferences. Many families have been wondering about school pictures, and a date and time has not been determined though we will update you by the end of this month with information.

Our 2021 Youth Truth Family Survey window will be open for two more weeks. Data from this anonymous survey will be used directly to inform our school’s Climate Committee and School Site Council’s decision-making process for our School Plan for Student Achievement. César Chávez Elementary has 549 families and so far 10% (54 families) have submitted their responses. This survey should only take 15 minutes, and if you have more than one child who attends the same school you may complete the survey for each child.

Thank you again for taking the time to read our school Highlights, Updates and Reminders below. At any time, you may reach us by calling or emailing our school office which is open Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., (530) 757-5490, cesarchavezprincipal@djusd.net.

With sincere thanks,

Veronica L Dunn

Though it is important that you place our library books in a sealed Zip Lock or Plastic Bag as the weather elements (rain) have the potential to damage books. Thanks for your cooperation with returning books in plastic or sealed bags into our new bin!
