Principal Dunn Update - October 2, 2022
Posted on 10/03/2022

Dear CCE Community,

heritage month    belling prevention

This week is la Semana de Empatía, Empathy Week, which kicks off our October’s National Bullying Prevention Month where students will learn more about the many forms of bullying, none of which are acceptable. Additionally in this month, we acknowledge and honor October’s Filipino American Heritage Month, National Custodian Day (Oct 2), week of the School Administrator (Oct. 11-17), and Larry Itliong Day (Oct. 25). We will also end the month with our school’s traditional Halloween parade on Monday, October 31st with more information to come about this event.

With howls and hugs,

Sra. Dunn

CCE Homecoming Celebration Event

Thanks to all who joined us for our CCE Homecoming Celebration! It was a historical event and I appreciate the current and former students, staff, and families for celebrating our Spanish Immersion accomplishments and ¡Sí se puede pride together on this very special day! Many thanks to our CCE student alumni Musical Performers, Mirna “Bea” Olivera our custodian, and our SIPAT leaders Greg Francis, Jessica Chang, Felisa Yang, and 6th grade ice cream volunteers for their help making this event possible!

Updates

Clubs de CCE

I am excited to share that CCE will be offering 1) SIPAT-led, and 2) CCE staff-led clubs this school year for our students. SIPAT-led Clubs will require parent pre-registration. CCE Staff led clubs will be determined by teacher recommendations as well as student applications. While we understand the huge demand for our before, during, and after school clubs, space is limited! Some club leaders will need to utilize a lottery and waitlist system for 2nd - 6th grade students. Please see the club options below:

  • CCE Running Club – Thursdays, 2:45-3:45 p.m. (1st-6th grades – parent pre-registration required, no lottery or waitlist)
  • CCE Choir Club – Tuesdays, 7:30-8:15 a.m. (4th-6th grades – parent pre-registration required, lottery/waitlist for 35 participants)
  • CCE Debate Club – TBD, (2nd-3rd grades – teacher recommendation and student application)
  • CCE Newspaper Club – TBD (4th-6th grades - teacher recommendation and student application)
  • CCE Robotics Club – TBD (6th grade only - teacher recommendation and student application)
