Feliz Verano, César Chávez Elementary,

This will be the last Principal Dunn Update for our school year until August, so I wanted to wish you a fantastic well-deserved break to rest, rejuvenate and reunite with your families and friends during these next couple of months.  I hope to see you around Davis at summer camps, the Farmer’s Market or waving to each other while biking or walking around town this summer!

I also wanted to express my heartfelt gratitude to our CCE staff, students, and parents for your committed efforts for showing your Sí se puede spirit and doing your best to make this school year safe and successful!  Also, many thanks for the kind and generous cards, gifts, flowers, hugs and high-fives you bestowed upon me, the teachers, specialists and staff members who care deeply for your students.

Additionally, I want to thank our staff and parent leaders who represented our CCE community serving on important stakeholder groups such as the Climate Committee, English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC), Environmental Enrichment Program (EEP), School Site Council and Spanish Immersion Parent And Teacher (SIPAT) Teams.  CCE staff alone could not plan and implement our essential academic and enrichment programs if it were not for our parent donations and volunteers’ commitment and passion for Spanish Immersion.  I am proud of the programs you all help shape and offer such as:  CARES PBIS, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support and Staff Trainings, K-4th Círculo Reading Program, Día de Muertos, Spanish Reading Push-In program, English Language Development, 2nd-4th grade Math Support, Kindness Week, Read-A-Thon, Field Trips, Running Club, Lobos Activos, César Chávez Day, Bike Swap, Move-A-Thon, Fiesta, CARES Carnaval, 6th grade promotion festivities and much more….

I am super excited for the 2022-23 school year to come, especially with the opening of our new MPR!

CCE Office Open June 21-June 24

We apologize for closing the office last week due to PG&E and Landmark Construction finishing up the last of new MPR Project.  Office staff and I will be available and on campus this week Tuesday, June 22 – Friday, June 24, 8:30-3:30 p.m..  Please stop by or call us at (530) 757-5490 if you need assistance.  After June 24th the office will be closed and expect delays in response to emails through the month of July through August 5th.
