Principal Dunn Update - December 11, 2022
Posted on 12/11/2022

Queridos padres de familia de CCE,

With the rise in respiratory virus cases in our community is high, our county and district is strongly recommending mask wearing indoors for everyone. We always have a supply of adult and children sized masks in our office. Signs will be put out daily outside school offices on white sandwich boards across the district until further notice. In addition, we ask that students stay home if they are feeling sick, and we will continue to encourage students to wash and sanitize hands frequently at school.

DJUSD supplied Covid-19 rapid test home kits for students before they are dismissed for Winter Break. We are asking our families to support a healthy return to CCE by taking the rapid test before coming to school on Tuesday, January 3, 2023. This is a reminder that there is no school on Monday, January 2 and DJUSD elementary schools are back on the Jan. 3rd.

Warm regards,

Sra. Dunn

Update

Attendance, Truancy Letters, and EEA Letters

There has been some confusion surrounding EEA letters coming home to some families and I apologize for that. These are Excessive Excused Absence letters that by law need to be sent to families for student absences even if they are excused.

Unfortunately, even if you have been in communication with the school regarding your students specific valid reason for missing school, the letter must go out. I apologize for any frustration that has been caused by this. Please call our office to discuss if you have any other questions regarding these letters Please read below to learn more about our district/state policies.

EEA Letters: Excused Absences

Below are the trigger thresholds for a student that has Excessive Excused Absences.

  • K-6th: Absences are counted daily
