Attendance Awareness
I can’t stress enough about the importance of School Attendance! It is the #1 predictor of student’s academic success.
• Each day that a student is marked as present at school brings in $65 of funding to our school. All absences, including excused absences, result in lost funding for our school community!

• CCE received a District award for reducing our school’s chronic absenteeism rate by 73%. Notice last year in 2018, our attendance was below the school average in the month of October! We want to be in the blue-green range for each month in our Attendance Report.

• In the months of November through February CCE’s absenteeism rates in 2018-19 were well above the district average. If short-term independent study (STIS) plans extend beyond 10 days, or STIS plans are not completed or turned in to the school office, the school does not receive credit and, or truancy days are documented.

• School will be out of session for Thanksgiving Break from November 25-29, resuming December 2. Your efforts to avoid taking extra days off during the holidays are essential to giving your student the best chance at success, and also tie directly into the resources available for our school.

• Research shows that missing 10% of the school, or about 18 days in most school districts, negatively affects a student’s academic performance. That’s just two days a month and that’s known as chronic absences.

3 min passenger load
Morning Drop Off Front of CCE: 3-Minute Passenger Loading Zone
When dropping off students at the front of the school between 8:10 – 8:25 a.m., we appreciate that all drivers not park and leave their vehicles unattended along the 3-Minute Drop Off curb. This is a drop off zone to increase the flow of Anderson bike, bus and car traffic southbound. We also ask that at the curb, you direct your students to cross the school staff parking lot through the center crosswalk that leads to the Front Office. For safety reasons, we have two staff members in the parking lot to ensure they safely reach our school campus. Thank you!
