Greetings CCE Community,
MPR
Tomorrow January 27, our school will be hosting two Multi-Purpose Room (MPR) Community meetings in the MPR 3:30-5:00 p.m. and 5:30-7:00 p.m. for staff and parents. These are two more opportunities to learn more about plans to construct a new MPR on César Chávez Elementary campus. These meetings will include the chance to view architectural drawings and hear ideas developed by a parent-staff working group on this topic. If you have not attended a meeting thus far, I encourage you to attend one of the two scheduled meetings tomorrow. If you cannot attend the meeting and would like to offer your feedback, please email faciltyplanning@djusd.net.

“Be a bush if you can't be a tree. If you can't be a highway, just be a trail. If you can't be a sun, be a star. For it isn't by size that you win or fail. Be the best of whatever you are.” —Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Important Updates

School Site Council Proposal

César Chávez Elementary School Site Council Chair, Petrea Marchand, drafted a proposal requesting César Chávez Elementary School Parents, Teachers and Staff to provide additional time for DJUSD School District staff to more fully evaluate all options and to support a reinvigorated public outreach process to determine an MPR location that will work best for the current and future César Chávez Elementary School Community. This proposal was shared at a School Board Meeting and on social media. You may also access the proposal document below. Again, we encourage you all to attend tomorrow’s CCE Community Meeting especially if you have not attended this academic school year. 2020 0116 MPR Public Outreach Process FINAL2.pdf
