Dear CCE Families,

Hoping that your Winter Break was a joyful and restorative time spent with family and friends. I also hope that your 2020 New Year is off to a brilliant start. This week, students and teachers created hopes and goals together to make this an engaging and fun school year. It was great to see classroom and student participation this past Friday during Pajama Day, too. We rejoice in each new day to build positive momentum and strength as we are grateful for the care and support we have given and received from one another. Gratitude is what connects us all. UC Davis Professor Robert Emmons studied gratitude for a decade where he and his colleagues found that grateful people report more positive emotions, more vitality and optimism, and greater life satisfaction as well as lower levels of stress and depression. César Chávez Elementary is a special school which I am truly grateful to be a part of, especially serving as your principal. Thank you all again for your generosity, kindness and cooperation you continue to give us staff, students and families at school!
